They are very resourceful and can figure out how to do things independently. They are also very innovative and come up with new ideas. Gen Z is also more comfortable working remotely than any other generation before them. They are not afraid of change and are always looking for new opportunities.

Managing this cohort is understanding the gen z workplace culture. Here are a few tips:

Give them clear instructions and expectations. Make sure they understand what is expected of them and the deadlines.

Be patient with them – it may take longer for them to complete tasks than older generations.

Provide adequate training and support – they may need more help than previous generations when it comes to learning new skills. 

As an employer, it’s best to encourage them to use their strengths. Let them know that it’s okay to be resourceful and develop new ideas, but they must use those skills responsibly.

Motivating Gen Z in the Workplace

Be innovative – gen z loves innovation, so if you can innovate your office space or workplace routine, then this is a great way of motivating younger members of staff. Offer clear career paths – many employers are struggling with how best to motivate young people who want long-term job security but aren’t afraid of trying out different roles for a bit before settling down into one particular field.

Provide feedback – make sure employees understand what they’re doing well and where there might be room for improvement. This generation responds well to positive feedback and seeing that they are doing well.
